We had to reschedule Amy & Andy’s Olbrich Garden Engagement Session three times and were thiiiiiiiiis close to rescheduling this evening as well. The weather was super-duper overcast and called for rain but we gave it a shot and I’m so glad we did! The gray clouds set off the brilliant pinks of the Crab-Apple and Mangnolia trees perfectly. Spring in Wisconsin is such a surprise and this afternoon one gave us a great backdrop.
We had a great time getting to know each other as we literally, let the wind blow us around Olbrich Gardens. It has been years since I’ve been an official photographer on the grounds with a real camera and not my iPhone. It was so nice to be able to really dig in and get creative. I’m thinking of getting a photography permit a little more often for sure.
Andy proposed to Amy on steps of the Thai Pavilion so we started there, naturally. I loved listening to their proposal story and how Amy had a sneaking suspicion he might be up to something as they walked all the way back. Andy and I both obsessed over Amy’s beautiful hair… well probably me more! It’s gorgeous! By the end of the evening I think I was even able to convince them to open an Instagram account for their dog… so win! (is anyone else nearly as excited about those IG stories as me… no? just me….riiiiight…)
Olbrich Gardens Engagement Session
After walking around the gardens we headed across the street to Lake Monona. The wind blew hard, the rain sprinkled down and these images are my favorite.
I am almost all booked up for 2018. Any fall weddings looking for a photographer? Hit me up?
