Matt & Tonya were married in an intimate wedding ceremony at Olbrich Gardens on a hot and sunny June afternoon. As a Madison wedding photographer I jumped at the chance to photograph their beautiful garden wedding for this big new family!
The wedding was a family event right from the beginning. Matt with his three children, Meredith, Alex & Sam and, Tonya and her two daughters Hannah and Chloe were the entire wedding party and it was perfect. All of the ladies got ready in a flash in the upper loft while Matt and the boys hung out down below. Matt & Tonya gifted the girls each a necklace with a meaningful charm and the boys watches. Everyone was so excited and ready to get the day started.
The ceremony was set in a beautiful garden surrounded by hanging wisteria, and colorful roses. The sky was so blue and there wasn’t a cloud to be found, it was hot but the breeze that showed up made it perfect. Matt & Tonya also incorporated a special vow ceremony to the all of their children that was so touching, a perfect symbol of unity. Then this new family of seven walked around the gardens and we took some fun photos. A highlight for me was when we found the kids all playing an exciting game of ‘flip bottle’ in the Thai Pavilion together as they passed the time. Matt & Tonya shared a first dance together under the Thai Pavilion and we all headed to The Legend at Bergamont in Oregon for a dinner reception.
The Legend at Bergamont club house is on top of rolling hills that over looking the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. Everyone relaxed in the cool air-conditioning and visited as the sun slowly set and toasts were given. Sam & Alex were sure to load up on kiddie cocktails, a childhood favorite of mine too! It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
