For the very first time I met Lindsay & Evan (Their Engagement Session was AMAZING) I knew how seamless their wedding would feel. They both exude calm vibes. Lindsay was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever photographed. She and Evan both just wanted to look back on their wedding day and remember the time they shared with their families and friends. It was so important that their guests enjoy their time and the details were planned accordingly. Of course, I love to hear from the couple themselves about the best parts of their wedding day!
Lindsay, what was your favorite moment/s from the day?
Lindsay – My favorite moment, hands down, was walking down the aisle. There was a little bit of rushing getting to the church, but once I walked through the doors with my dad it all became real. It was a beautiful experience seeing all of our friends and family in the pews and then meeting Evan at the end.
Lindsay, over and over again your family and friends spoke about how you planned the wedding day around making sure everyone else was comfortable. As you looked around during the day did your plans and vision all come together as you expected?
Lindsay – I tried to, as much as I could. Coordinating a day for 200 guests is hard work! I think I’ll keep my job as a nurse 😉 But my plans and vision all came together as I expected. Of course, there were a handful of ‘hiccups,’ but I knew everything wasn’t going to be perfect. You can’t sweat the small stuff. It was an incredible day!
Evan, what was your favorite moment/s from the day?
Evan – Of course, seeing Lindsay in her dress for the first time is a moment I’ll never forget. She took my breath away and made me blubber! I also remember having a brief period of “me-time” at the reception where I was able to step back and soak in all the love and support from all our family and friends who were able to celebrate with us. It was simply incredible.
You had a beautiful hot Wisconsin spring day and hosted so many friends and family members do you have any tips for planning a downtown wedding?
Lindsay – Directions. Provide explicit and detailed directions to all of your vendors, even if they tell you that they know where to go.
We also think that it helped to have hotel blocks downtown, so that parking wasn’t as much of an issue. When I sought out room blocks, I made sure to ask which ones have free parking, an airport shuttle, a local shuttle, etc.
Amazing Team of Vendors:
The Catholic Girl in me couldn’t help but appreciate this phone in the back of the church…
The bus ride was a highlight for me… especially when Evan & Lindsay’s Moms joined in on all the fun too!
Evan & Lindsay met while knee deep in Pharmacy School. They started out as a group of three, doing the every popular late night cram sessions, college students are best at!
