Meeting Matt & Savannah I knew I would be able to take a few extra risks during their engagement session. They were sooo laid back and perfectly willing to come down to me and walk my personal jogging path for their engagement session. I know this path… I am the kind of photographer who will take actual notes including time of day where light is perfect in a location… even it is next to a dumpster. I know the light on this path & I’m a light junkie so I was thrilled they were game for anything. I also recently took a new photography class and had a ton of fresh new ideas. Naturally, I had all the camera settings loaded in my phone too! Ha Ha! They were so patient with me as I fumbled a bit from time to time. I love it when couples trust me so much to try new things.
I loved learning about their story… how they met… Matt’s awful athletic shorts made a huge impression on Savannah the first time they met. I learned that Savannah was taught self defense by her Dad when I cued her to escape a bear hug from Matt too! It was so fun just wondering around with them chatting about board games and chasing the beautiful night light. As I was testing out my new techniques, I knew that all of my shots wouldn’t be tack perfect but some of those imperfect images are honestly my favorite from my whole season. Thank you Matt & Savannah for hanging out in my hood and being such great sports. Your wedding is going to be amazing!
