A Mount Horeb Wisconsin Wedding at a stunning private home of Kate’s Aunt and Uncle. The day was unbelievable complete with a quick Wisconsin summer storm right after the ceremony. The wind came quickly and offered the perfect breeze and broke that summer humidity in no time. Who doesn’t love that Wisconsin weather!
When my good friend and wedding coordinator, Becky from A Piece of Cake Consulting, told me about this location and wedding she told me it was beautiful but… WOW!! Can’t I just say WOW and leave it at that… I’m crossing my fingers for an invite to the next pool party… I mean… am I aging myself if I say I felt like I was on Wisconsin’s version of ‘Cribs’ on MTV?
I asked Kate & Joe to tell me a bit about their day too!
Tell me about your Venue:
Kate: The venue is my Aunt and Uncle’s home. When they offered the location it was a no brainer. We both wanted an outdoor wedding. Their beautiful home was the perfect setting for our Wisconsin back yard wedding.
Any Favorite Moments?
Kate: Some of my favorite moments were:
Watching Mac ( the dog) run down the aisle after Joe, and then just laying out front during the whole ceremony! During the ceremony Emily took a moment to remember those who were no longer with us and my grandmother with tears in her eyes mouthed “thank you” after that I could not look at her without crying. I loved looking out and seeing all the people I loved supporting us. I loved watching Joe hold back his tears during the vows. I had a blast dancing with my dad
The dance floor was full the majority of the night.
Joe’s favorite moments were the ceremony and our first dance.
We both think it’s really awesome how far our friends and family traveled to join the celebration!
Ok… your Father Daughter Dance was epic… and I’ve photographed A LOT of them! I need to know more!

Talking Heads – This Must Be The Place
Kate: My dad dances to the beat of his own drum. If I tried to get him to slow dance it would have been a disaster. So we found a song that we have always danced to around the house. We just kind of winged it the day of. We both had so much fun. I am glad we did it this way.
Girl… your Michelle Obama arms were on point!
This is the face you make when you think you just dropped BLUEBERRY pie on your brides dress… it landed on her arm…
And just like that… the sun was back…
My favorite wedding moments are often the small ones…
Thanks so much for having me! I love every second!
