When you have been friends with someone since before you can even have a formed memory, you jump at the chance to document her family as a special gift to her Mom. This is a special session, special because this sweet family was able to aline all the stars and together we planned for this perfect summer family photography session at home at Alice’s beautiful country home just outside of Madison. I had my eye on the weather all week… and of course it called for rain on and off but, we couldn’t cancel… not after so long! And do you know what happened, it rained, it rainbow’d, it shined, the wind blew and all was perfect.
It started pouring rain just as we started up with some fun photo’s on this great couch… and you know what? I couldn’t have been more happy about it. We went inside and the kids did what they normally would do while visiting Grandma. They played games and school and best of all they all crowded into Alice’s sewing room and helped Grandma with her next quit project. Alice is probably the most talented and generous quilter around. She along with her friends create quilts for the veterans each year and donate them at the Madison VA Hospital. These photo’s of Alice quilting with her grandchildren are my favorite.
And just like that, the rain stopped and back outside we went to catch an amazing rainbow.
This photo is of me and bestie… thank you so very much for trusting me to tell your family story! (photo credit: Cade Washa)
