What a amazing way to kick off the 2018 wedding season! Robert and Katie were the sweetest and their families were so filled with joy as these two said ‘i do’ in a classic downtown Madison ceremony at The Park Hotel.
I had so many favorite moments from the day. The weather was perfect and we were all glad there wasn’t any snow! The expression on Roberts face when he first saw Katie in her dress was priceless. Sometimes those first look moments really do steal the show. Katie & Robert made sure to fill the day with time to truly enjoy the company of their friends and family, I loved just hanging around downtown as they soaked up the day. Katie’s father maybe have stole the show that evening with his epic wedding ‘non-toast’ to the couple. Dad’s are the best!
Katie’s favorite moments from the day: Listening to Robert’s vows and getting to read him mine, the speeches/ toasts during dinner, and everyone on the dance floor with their arms around each other singing “Seasons of Love”.
Robert’s favorite moments: from the day: Both moments of “sewing heroism”, when Casey sewed my tuxedo button back on and when Sirui sewed together Brian’s bow tie. I also liked showing off my vows, which I worked very hard to write. Finally, I liked singing “Seasons of Love” and “Purple Rain”
Robert your first look reaction was priceless tell me about that moment! I did practice my “surprised look” a couple of times, but I think it really comes down to Katie looking completely different than I had last seen her. I had no idea what her dress was going to look like, and I couldn’t quite imagine that first look being as stunning as it was in real life.
Thank you both so much for choosing me to tell your wedding day story! ~ kj
Katie do you have any advice for other couples when they plan their big day? Make sure you are working with people you really trust, who understand how you want your day to look. We went to multiple bridal shows and read lots of vendor reviews. We had complete trust in everyone we worked with, which made our wedding day go smoothly. Also, don’t be afraid to accept and/ or ask for help. We had some DIY projects and decorating that needed to be set up the day before and day of the wedding. Family and friends offered to help with this so I could enjoy the day. I couldn’t have done it all without them! The day goes by so quickly so take the time to soak it in, have fun, and enjoy being surrounded by everyone you love!
